Asus’s approach to handling the camera modules on their phones has been truly innovative. Last year with the Asus Zenfone 6 or Asus 6z, the company implemented a flip camera setup where the rear camera of the device, when in time of need, can be flipped and used as the front camera as well. The same camera module has been implemented for Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro this year.

The Asus Zenfone 7 is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC while the 7 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 865+ processor. Notably, the Asus Zenfone 7 packs 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of onboard storage. Whereas, the Asus Zenfone 7 Pro packs 8GB of RAM and 256GB of onboard storage. One more key difference between both the models is that the Asus Zenfone 7 does not has OIS on any camera lens while the 7 Pro sports OIS for main and telephoto cameras.

Talking about the display the duo sports a 6.67-inch Super AMOLED display, which produces 1080 x 2400 pixels, at an aspect ratio of 20:9 with 395 PPI density. And has a 90HZ refresh rate panel with HDR10+ support. For protection, Asus has implemented Corning Gorilla Glass 6. The cameras on the phone are similar and it packs a 64MP primary lens and is capable of recording 8K@30fps, 4K@30/60/120fps, 1080p@30/60/240fps, and 720p@480fps.

The fingerprint on both the phones has been mounted on the side of the device. The Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro comes with Android 10 ZenUI 7 out of the box. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with Fast charging 30W, USB Power Delivery 3.0, and Reverse charging support.

How to Flash Firmware File on Asus Zenfone 7 or 7 Pro

Here, we will give you all the steps that will help you to flash the firmware file on your Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro. Flashing firmware file can come handy to unbrick your phone, fix the boot loop issue on your device, upgrade or downgrade you Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro, fix the software lag, and other scenarios. However, before installing the firmware on your phones, please check the list of pre-requisites below:

  • Updated Android security patch
  • Fixed the recording freeze when using 4K 60FPS
  • Fixed the obvious color blocks in the photos of beautiful skin mode
  • Fixed the weather app will not update automatically
  • Added One Hand mode
  • Fixed the lag and frame drop issue when playing the game

Pre-requisites

  • Note that this guide and the firmware files provided in this post are only for the Asus ZenFone 7 and 7 Pro.
  • Make sure to keep your device battery charged at least 50% or above.
  • You will need a PC/Laptop.
  • Besides, you need a USB cable to connect your phone to the PC.
  • Take a complete device backup before doing anything on your device.
  • Install the Latest Asus USB Drivers on your PC.
  • Also, you need to download ADB Fastboot drivers.

Install via Recovery

  • Firstly, you need to download the firmware zip file from the above link.
  • Then rename the downloaded file to update.zip.
  • Place the zip file to the device’s internal storage.
  • Now, you need to turn Off your device and reboot into recovery mode. This can be done by pressing the Power button + Volume UP button together for a few seconds.
  • Once your phone has booted into recovery mode, select apply update from sd card option.
  • Then you have to choose the update.zip file which you have downloaded earlier.
  • After selection, the installation process will begin.
  • Once the installation is completed, reboot your ZenFone 7 or 7 Pro.
  • That’s it!

Install via ADB and Fastboot Tools

  • Firstly, you need to download the firmware zip file from the above link.
  • Download the ADB and Fastboot tools on your PC and extract them.
  • Move the downloaded file to the same folder where you have extracted the contents of the ADB and Fastboot folder.
  • You need to enable USB Debugging on your Asus Zenfone 7 and 7 Pro.
  • Now under the same folder of ADB and Fastboot tools, open a command prompt by pressing Shift Key + Right Mouse Click.
  • Reboot your phone into the Recovery mode by pressing the Power button + Volume UP button together for a few seconds.
  • Then you are required to connect your Asus Zenfone 7 or 7 Pro to the PC using a USB cable.
  • Enter the below command on the cmd:
  • adb devices
  • This command will check if the device is properly connected to your PC or not.
  • Once you see your device is properly connected, enter the below command and press enter:
  • adb sideload File_name.zip
  • This will initiate the installation process.
  • Once the process is complete, reboot your phone.
  • That’s it!
