The team on The Flash has known about the events of Flashpoint for a few weeks now, but last night’s ‘Invasion!’ episode saw Barry reveal his timeline-altering mistake to the heroes of Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow. Oliver Queen, John Diggle, and the Legends learned of Barry’s trip to the past, where he saved his mother from Reverse-Flash, returning to a present where Caitlin became Killer Frost, Cisco had lost his brother, and Diggle’s daughter Sara had become Diggle’s son, John Jr.

Barry got a brief talking to from Diggle and Sara Lance, while everyone except Oliver left to go and fight the Dominators, an alien race hellbent on building their very own super-race. When Barry rushed in to save them from being mind-controlled, however, the fact that he had potentially turned their lives upside down was swiftly swept under the rug. Fans may have thought that might be it, but as it happens, there’s a crossover to be getting on with, and so Team Arrow will have to come to terms with it all in next week’s midseason finale ‘What We Leave Behind’.

As we know, Diggle is a lot more concerned about Barry’s misuse of his overwhelming powers than of changes to his own life, but Oliver’s recruits (Wild Dog, Mr. Terrific, Artemis and Ragman) still have to deal with it, and we’re yet to see how Oliver himself will react when he finds out Felicity was sitting on the information the whole time.

While we have to wait until next week to see how these conundrums will unfold, executive producer Marc Guggenheim spoke to ComicBook and offered insight to what fans can expect:

We know Curtis was never straight, but this does make us wonder what’s in store for some of the other minor Arrow characters, specifically Artemis, who was revealed in the episode preceding ‘Invasion!’ to be working with Prometheus. For now though, Arrow and its characters have to get through its 100th episode, as the ‘Invasion!’ crossover continues for the third night running.

There’s actually a fair amount of discussion about Flashpoint, given the fact that you know, essentially, the crossover outed Flashpoint to the Arrow characters besides Felicity. They, I think in some humorous ways actually, deal with some of the ramifications. For example, I think Curtis is concerned that maybe he was straight originally, as one example.

You’ve got to think the milestone episode will drop one or two bombshells on Team Arrow, and as if the fallout from this wasn’t enough, next week will also look deeper into the lives of the characters impacted most by Flashpoint.

Arrow returns next Wednesday @8pm with ‘What We Leave Behind’.
